Food Bank

Providing food support to families and individuals in need in Haslemere and the surrounding area.

The Haslemere Food Bank was set up in 2013 to give those in need an extra helping hand with their weekly food shop. The COVID-19 pandemic and the recent cost of living crisis have both led to a considerable surge in demand for food support and an increase in the demand for the services that we offer.

You may never have thought you would need a food bank or similar and for some this will be difficult to come to terms with. However, the Haslemere Food Bank is about the community supporting its friends and neighbours through these difficult times.

We operate through a referral system. We know food poverty is not a standalone issue and is a symptom of other, deeper problems. Our system seeks to ensure people have access to the support they need in other areas of their lives.

People are referred through the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Health Centre, 3 Counties Money Advice, children’s schools, churches and various borough and town agencies. If you, or someone you know, is in need of support please contact one of these organisations who will be able to help you.

If you are given a voucher for a food parcel from the Food Bank, you can come and collect during our opening hours on on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10.00am-12.00pm (excluding Bank Holidays). If you are unable to pick up from the Food Bank, please inform the organisation who provided the referral and we will ensure that a pack is delivered to you.

The Haslemere Food Bank can assist with free food, personal hygiene, sanitary and domestic cleaning items. It also offers fresh fruit and vegetables as well as some frozen produce too.
